Where can I find a really good koi fish tattoo?

koi
Korey M asked:

This will be my fist tattoo and it will be placed on my upper arm but not visible w/ clothing. I want some color but mostly black and white w/ a really cool background. I googled koi fish but I only found 2 designs I liked. Looking for a website w/ plenty of koi tats. Thanks in advance.

  • or you could just look up koi fish and find a pic you like and have them turn it into a tattoo

sorry i know theres a lot but i just figured id give you a variety of some

EDIT: heres a tattoo website with some koi fish on them, more of what you were asking

  • Why not just go talk to your tattoo artist, tell him what your wanting, and have him help you make your own design?
As I said in an answer to someone else’s question: Personally I think if your going to get a tattoo it should be of your own design, not someone else’s, not someone else’s somewhat modified, and certainly not a piece of flash off the wall that thousands of others have as well.

  • I think you should just go to an artist and explain what you want. Artists know what a koi fish looks like. I brought in pictures of koi fish tattoos that I liked when I got mine and my artist was like dude, I can do so much better on this, drew up a tattoo, and then I got it. And he was right, it was amazing.

You can also put koi into the search box on…but really, your best bet is to get an artist to draw it up for you.

  • If you really want a good, original koi tattoo, you will need to go to an artist who specializes in either japanese tattoo imagery or in tebori-method japanese tattooing.

The foot work is worth it, believe me. I went through japanese art books and internet sites, and found ideas but never the perfect thing. Finally I took the vague ideas I did have to an incredible japanese tebori artist, and we conceptualized a tattoo together. The first day I went in to get tattooed, he painted the entire thing on me freehand within 20 minutes and it looks incredible. A year later, I’m nearly done getting my full back piece done. It was so worth the time and effort, and now I have something better than I’ve seen anywhere, and better than anything I could have conceptualized myself.

Here’s a site for you to look at for inspirational purposes (look at Shinji, who is my artist, and Chris O’Donnell, who specializes in japanese style tattoos, in particular…but all these artists are incredible. there are also lots of links on the site as well that might help you), but please don’t limit yourself to the internet if you really want an amazing koi design.

    Best of luck to you!

  • Try this website. My husband has two Koi tatts and this is where we got them from
