so you don’t shock your new fish and kill it…
The shock of the change in temp could kill it
How would like to go from nice warm water to very cold and not be able to get out.
the shock of the different temperature is so great that it kills the fish.
worse thing to do is have the water to hot
try to match it within 5 degrees
I don’t get it.
When I have a hot bath i don’t die
so he doesn’t go into shock. they can withstand quite cold temperatures but not suddenly
water temperature can be a shock to the goldfish
most fish are ectothermic (cold blooded) and so their body temp matches their environment and when you place the fish in water that is very different from its temp. it probably puts too much stress on the fish’s body by adjusting so quickly…not really sure other than it does put the fish into shock…sorry hope this helps some
