GO TO HOME DEPOT AND GET THE BOOK ON FOUNTAINS AND POOLS AND READ B4 YA BUY
THE LINER WILL BE A THICK RUBBER GUAGE
get a blac pvc pond liner, i your worried about tears and losing water then double it up. it will hold water over 6 feet deep so don’t worry about that.
Have you considered building the sides up? You would have to increase the grade around the existing pond and would lose any gardens you have there (unless you pull the plants up and then put them back in), We did this at my mother-in-laws’s home and aded a water fall.
