I think your best option here is the Pearl gourami or the Blue gourami, both are peaceable TL Swimmers and both grow more than large enough for you if given the space, ideally should be kept in pairs but singles will be OK, however I'm a little concerned that you don't know how big your tank is, and both plecs and Red finned sharks can be somewhat aggressive to other fish if they feel they are pressured for space. One other thing to remember is that larger fish are often aggressive towards smaller tank mates regardless of species.

Bala Shark, also know as silver shark.

But to be honest, you really need a minimum of 100 gallons as they are a shoaling fish meaning you will need more than one, and they do grow massive.

Get some Gouramis, they are beautiful, and most do quite well in a community setting. But do your research first, there is lots of information on these beautiful fish out there, so happy hunting, and another thing, they are quite readily available at pet stores as well as online, so god luck :)

And what are the other fish in the tank that are staying in it?

A gourami could be the fish you are looking for. The exact species will depend on your tank size. Some gouramis can get huge like the kissing gourami. Search gourami and see if any of them catch your eye and make sure it can fit in your tank if you go this route.
