Smiley j asked:
I was reading around and heard that a female vizsla is more dominant. Which we need to know which one is more dominant because we are getting one but we already have a 6 year old yorkie. And we want to choose the best gender that would fit perfectly into our family:) Thank you
Our yorkie is a male and he is fixed.
He also isn’t that good torwards energetic dogs but he is best friends with a golden retriever and a lab mix

I really don’t know much about this breed, but what I do know is…dominance is usually the role of the pack leader, that my friend, should be you.
I suggest you Google the breed or find breed specific books gain as much info on them as possible.
I wouldn’t worry about the dominance issue.
What matters is if the individual dogs will get along. Generally, opposite genders are recommended for less likelihood of animosity. But there are no guarantees.
Smiley j, I wish I had a a vizsla.
There are Alpha males and Alpha females in Vizslas and I have seen both.
The females will guard their space more. Do a lot of research and hang out with Vizslas and Vizsla owners before you get one.
These are high energy dogs that have to have 60 to 90 minutes a day of good hard work outs to keep happy.
The Vizsla Rescue operations are seeing more Vizslas made homeless because people get them because think they are good looking. These are first and foremost HUNTING dogs that are breed to work and run hard and in open country.
You have two completely different dogs in a Yorkie and a Vizsla.
I set up a blog that might help those who like the breed to understand the dog better.
