I assume by match you mean tournament? In which case i would not recommend entering a tournament at 14, if they would even allow it. Even local tournaments are dominated by pro fisherman that have boats equipped with the best technology available. So unless you have access to that I would say wait until you are older and have access to that equipment.
I don’t know of any specific matches in Essex but at 14 you are at a good age to get into match fishing. i would advise you to look to your local fishing clubs as they will very likely run junior matches. i would advise starting with these as it is a big ask to expect to be able to compete with seasoned adults straight away. Many clubs run a junior league and some run inter league matches where you fish for your club against juniors from other clubs. Also look to the local commercial carp fisheries as they too often run matches for juniors and open matches. i started that way at your age and found that the competition helped me improve very quickly and i was soon winning matches. start with the club scene matches and when you are happy move on to the opens. good luck.
