  • Yes, but they would grow extremely quickly.

  • No. These fish should not be kept in aquariums, unless you happen to have a 1000+ coldwater tank on hand.

  • not unless you want carpzilla, best left in outdoor fish pool

  • Not a good idea at all.

Not only are Koi cold water fish, but they can grow to 2 feet long or more. One adult sized Koi should have at least 1,000 gallons to itself and no less. Really, they are best for large ponds or someone who has an extremely huge tank.

If kept in small and warm tanks, they will become stunted and die prematurely. That is not a good thing considering Koi can live for decades.

  • Everyone says no but you could keep them in a minimum of about 200 litres to start and only about 3 maybe 4 but, they do need room as they grow (we do hope they do) and will require a large pound with a depth of about a minimum 76 cm. My local Chinese Restaurant has about 5 large in a tank about 250 litres. But I believe he may have a pond at home because some of the Koi are over 30 cm.

  • No koi carp need ponds not tanks
