You heard it’s the best time to get them pregnant?

I think you need to do a lot more research before you even consider this venture.

  • stacyandjason212

No. You can’t do it while they are in heat. Try in two weeks, that’s their most fertile time. Fo sho!

  • found a cockerman!

Bassetnut you just cut and paste for these occasions and questions dont you… hahahehehahhaheheh. I love it.

Oh and to answer your question.
it is the best site. every byb is on it trying to breed their poor quality dogs.
if your dog was special people would be looking for you to breed their stud to.
you also need to show your dog, and test your dog for genetic disorders.

    good luck on here.

Edit: You just came on here yesterday! And you ask a breeding question on your second day… wow. You dont learn fast do you? Get some books and study up on breeding, you also dont have an email that anyone can contact you through to give you advise.. or if they even had a stud for your dog.
Get a life and stop trying to make $$$ of your dog.

the best time to get them pregnant?

A heat period is the only time a b*tch will ecome pregnant!
I hope you are refering to her age, as two years old is the perfect time for a dog to have a litter.
Have you done any research at all on breeding? What condition is your dog in? Is she on a raw meat and veg diet? Or a natural dog food such as Burns or similar?
Is your dog a prime example of the Hungarian Vizla breed? Is her temperment impeccable? Have you had all the necessary health tests done on her?

I hope you aren’t just breeding for the sake of it. Get in touch with the breed club in your area and they will have studs, but most good breeders will only stud their dogs to approved b*tches.

If you are very well read and knowlegable on the subject of breeding, go ahead, great. I hope you do well. But if you are not, you should not think about breeding. There are WAY too many homeless dogs being killed each year. Millions of dogs and pups each year in America because of irresponsible breeding or accidental breeding.

    Good luck!

How many AKC shows has your Vizsla won?
What are the results of her eyes tests? Hip tests? Genentic tests?
What’s her pedigree? How did her parents do in the show ring?
Is your Vizsla an exemplary speciman of the breed?
Do you have the necessary funding for the stud fee, the food for her and for the pups, the medical upkeep for when your b*tch is pregnant, the first immunizations for the pups, and an extra $3000 for a possible c-section in case something goes wrong?

Take a good long look at your girl and ask yourself why you want to breed her. Dogs don’t give a rip if they reproduce, and by breeding you raise the chances of your dog getting ****** cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, etc. So ask yourself: are you breeding to better the breed, or are you breeding for greed?

Since you heard is the best time to get them pregnant, have you done actual research yourself? Please go to google and book stores to buy breeding books to educate yourself before you look for a stud.
If you are actively showing your female, have you discussed with your fellow breeder/exhibitor? How about discussing with your mentor?

Please don’t breed her. You obviously don’t know what you’re doing. If you were breeding her to for the betterment of the breed, to carry on strong traits, you would realize that breeding is very expensive and reputable breeders rarely make any money by breeding.

You will just be another back yard breeder adding to the problem. not helping it.

Please get you dog spayed as soon as she’s out of heat. and keep her away from any intact dogs!!!

Why are you wanting to breed your dog? Is she an exceptional specimen
of her breed, conforming closely to the breed standard? Has she any hard to
find virtues that would be a critical addition to the breed? Has she been
tested for genetic problems that can be passed on from the parents and does
she have an exceptional temperament? Has she been shown, and at least is on
her way to being a champion, if not already one?

If you want to bred and do it ethically, you must be committed to
learning all about your breed..its standard, its genetic diseases, the good,
the bad and the ugly. You must understand that your female could die. You
might have nothing but dead puppy bodies whether she lives or not. You might
have to pay for an emergency c-section to save her and/or the pups. If you
lose her, you are responsible for all the feeding of the pups, which will
require you to feed them every 1.5 to 2 hours. ALL hours, not just the
daylight ones. The puppies will **** 24/7, and this becomes your
responsibility to clean whether the mother survives to raise them or not.
The pups still need to be vet checked, vaccinated and dewormed no matter
what. When they reach certain stages of their lives, they need proper
socialization and guidance. They will be your responsibility at least for 8
weeks. After that 8 weeks, you are responsible to make sure they never wind
up homeless in a shelter or rescue. To ensure that, you will have to do
homechecks and make up contracts to be certain the new owners are going to
take care of them for life. You have to agree to always be available to take
back your puppies no matter what.

If you want to be a responsible breeder, look up your local breed
club, jump in and educate yourself. Listen to the advice of REPUTABLE
breeders and learn all you can about your dog. If you just wanna make
puppies to sell for lotsa money, don’t bother. We have too many of those
    already.

Because you really want to breed your dog to any random dog you hear about on the internet?

Do some real research. Contact some legitimate breeders and ask for referrals. Research your own dog’s bloodlines and find a male who is compatible and can strengthen her faults.

But most of all know this: having puppies is a lot harder than you can imagine. And there is NO money in it. It will cost you more than you will make.

Understand, unless you have a high quality show dog with Championship points you really should think twice (or more) before you breed her. Has she had all her certifications? Have you had her hips checked? Have you had all the recommended genetic and physical tests done? Is she is perfect health, because having puppies takes a lot out of a dog.

How about you? Are you prepared to stay home and bottle feed the puppies every two-four hours if mom can’t handle it. Is your wallet nice and fat? You’ll have to buy lots of breeding supplies like heat lamps and a whelping box, not to mention vet fees for check ups and vaccinations. Increased food requirements and supplements to be sure mom and babies get the very best nutrition. What about the thousand or more dollars you’ll have to pay if mom need a Cesearian? What if she dies?

And how will you plan for the babies, to make sure they go to perfect homes? How will you afford to care for them when a percentage of your buyers decide they really can’t deal with this six month old puppy that they never bothered to train and now they want to give it back? How will you deal with it when a percentage of your buyers just give up and dump your pups at a high kill rate animal control?

You will NOT make money on this and it is a lot of bother. Not something to take on casually as you seem to be doing.
