		<description>This could be blue-green algae that have found a niche in your system. Check your chemistry is up to scratch, particularly check for excess nitrogen. If it is bluegreen algae it would be best to remove it, as some types are potentially toxic if they get out of control.

You might try taking a sample to a water supply company to see what they say.</description>
