Get your wellies on and get in amongst it; the fish will shift, but if your worried you could bucket them while you are working. Too much of a risk and a lot of work catching them. If it's a good size, (50gal maybe) then no problem for a few months. If the tank is too small you are probably better to refill the pond, add water conditioner and put the fish back in.
