Keep the water cold for the koi, you'll kill the tropicals. Keep the water warm for the tropicals, you'll kill the koi. Also, a 50 gallon tank is not large enough to hold 2 koi for very long at all. You'll stunt them and they'd die that way, even if the water temps etc were right and they were the only fish in the tank. Hopefully, a word to the wise is sufficient.
