As you have said its one of your small koi it is probley scaired of the other larger fish.

Give it plenty of hadeing places and keep an eye on it to make sure no one is bullying it.

koi are one of the freakiest fish.. ca’mon its lonely and small baby poojypoojy… of course it will be scared, that also seeing a massive shadow come near the pond… put yourself in its place..lol… maybe also others are paired up and he’s back there behind its ‘lifeless’ plant singing ‘lonely..i’m mr.lonely..i aing gat nobaady…’…lol or izit a girl?lol..anyway koi prefer being in school that the rest of us..lol..if ye knoe wot i mean.. anyway get it a buddy…buuurrrrdyyyyyy…:P hey what type of koi is it? if you dunno tell me its colour pattern and spots…
ow ey ey wait…did i miss sturgeons?!!!! zomgfkg!!!!!1 its a bully fisssss!!!! it grows very biiiiiigg,imean biiiggggg, gigantic!!! grass car as well… well don’t let them go on protein ;P jk…anyway have at least 6 koi…anyway i always had even numbers of fisss…. i get when i see one left out…they are lil cojycojypouny fisssssss aftarall….

Is your Pond under direct sunlight ?

If it is, the fish is trying to avoid the sunlight due to the heat…

Try building a shelter for it ?

maybe it’s unhappy with all the other fish….fish only hide when unhappy, scared or picked on.

He’s smaller and easier to harass so he’s always hiding. Maybe the pond is too small.
