I have a Vizsla and was considering getting another one. But, I started thinking….
Does he prefer to be the only dog in house or will he be happier with a companion.

How a pack gets along depends on you as pack leader. Adding a new dog always means the original dog is going to have to adjust but how that goes depends on you.
I have a friend who has 3 Vizlas! Don’t know how he does it, he must be a glutton for punishment lol! (You’ll only get this if you have ever met a vizla!)
So yes they can and will get on with other dogs! Especially their own kind! Just introduce them properly and they will get on like a house on fire!
It really depends on your dog and how well it has been socialized.
dogs prefer to be in packs they are a pack animal it just all depends on how you introduce them to each other and who is top dog(which should be you)
This depends on you and your dog. You need to consider how well your dog is coping on his own and how well he might cope with another dog. If your dog is content with just you then the decision is yours. Do you want another dog? I know how hard Vizlas can be too handle from my own dog! She’s a terror sometimes and I don’t think I could cope with another Vizla!!!
It will mostly depend on your leadership and understanding of pack mentality of dogs. If you can honestly say you are a strong Alpha of your pack everything should be fine. If you are somewhere in between the age and *** of the dogs should be considered. For example, I had an 8 year old ***** (female) and brought home a ***** pup that turned out to be a strong ALPHA. Ideally I should have gotten the second dog earlier and it probably would have been easier had it been a male.
Bottom line, it will work if you are willing to provide the leadership and hard work.
You want two. We have two and most of our Vizsla friends that can handle it have two.
The dogs are the best of friends and keep each other company.
It does make it hard for my wife to walk them both (they are both young and strong) but I have no problem. She is looking forward to when they mellow out with age.
You didn’t state if you had a female or male. An older female and younger male works well if the female is neutered. Two males might be tough but two females seem to work well.
Many people like myself have gotten into blogging about our Vizslas and you can read their stories.
